HACKATHON CHALLENGE
With a 24-hour time frame, the team was invited to design a dashboard that allows our user, the post-production manager, to easily visualize any selected timeframes allocated to each editor, and view these relationships within the dashboard.
Some facts to consider about the Network:
- Innovators in scripted and non-scripted content for the diverse Hispanic audience.
- Largest U.S. based distributor of Spanish language content in the world.
- Unmatched programming that reaches millions of Hispanics across its platforms.
- Collective of knowledgeable and experienced post-production professionals i.e. editors, colorists, post supervisors that advise, and lend support to projects within their field.
OUR PROBLEM SPACE
How can we visualize our booking data to maximize the use of talent and shared resources of the Post-Production Center of Excellence?
UI INSPIRATION AND SKETCHES
The complexity and challenges of this project are related to the amount of information that the persona needs to have access to, in an efficient and friendly manner, without getting overwhelmed. We questioned ourselves about what elements we could be inspired by, and these are some of the UI inspo and sketches from the project.
THE TASK FLOW
Because the time frame that we had was so short, we decided to focus on the dashboard!
Meaning, the task flow will be about the features that are providing a solution to the user.
Meaning, the task flow will be about the features that are providing a solution to the user.
THE SOLUTION
We wanted to tackle as many pain points from the situation and to support the post-production manager. As you may see on this dashboard the managers will be able to see all the post-production department performance, which was a big challenge considering the vast amount of information and projects happening at the same time.
NEXT UX/UI STEPS:
- Continue developing and perfecting the dashboard and its visual representation of each feature that alleviates the pain points of our persona.
- Conduct user testing to post-production staff so that each view is accessible.
- Add a depth profile page for each editor once the dashboard is fully finalized.
- Implement responsive design for tablet and or mobile.
NEXT WEB DEVELOPMENT STEPS:
- Implement data feedback if users opt for an analytics heavy approach.
- Make the back end seamless for users or orgs to implement or adopt.
- Remote learning work support.
- Cacheching capability for very large companies
